Union Power Minister R K Singh has declared that by 2024, India would use no diesel in agriculture and will substitute fossil fuel with renewable power. States should create action intention of meeting the assigned objectives, as well as specific organizations devoted to energy efficiency measures.
During a meeting with officials from the
power ministry and the ministry of new and renewable
energy, Singh emphasized the importance of coordinating efforts between the
federal and state governments to implement large-scale energy efficiency measures. The minister also emphasized the importance of establishing a state-specific agency focused on improving energy efficiency. He urged the states to create an
action plan to meet the assigned targets.
He went on to say that the
central government is acting toward a
clean and innovative India, which cannot be realized without power systems, and that it looks forward to restarting to perform with all
states and UTs to reach this aim. During the meeting, Singh stated that commercial buildings should adhere to
ECBS and
domestic buildings should adhere to
ECO NIVAS and that this should be included in the building by-law. He stated that
non-fossil fuel methods will meet all power demands with the
assistance of
energy storage.
He reaffirmed the prime minister's commitment to intensifying India's fight against
climate change and global warming, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between the center and states to ensure
Energy Transition
in all potential segments of the country. This meeting was organized following the
Prime Minister's commitment at COP26 to reduce our country's carbon intensity. The goal of this gathering was to ensure state participation in meeting India's climate commitments, and each
state and UT can be designated energy-saving targets.
