Safari so slow compared to Chrome:
- Blink is used by Chrome, while WebKit is used by Safari. Chrome is not a native application, whereas Safari is. As a result of being designed exclusively for Macs, Safari is incredibly powered efficient.
- Apple integrates Safari further into its system with each macOS update, making it faster and more resource-efficient. Chrome, on the other hand, has a reputation for consuming a lot of RAM. Since it doesn't have the same system integration benefits, it's less efficient almost by definition.
- On all systems, Apple's Safari web browser is faster than Google Chrome.
- Allow Plug-ins should be unchecked in Safari/Preferences/Security. Quit and reopen Safari. Uncheck all plug-ins in Safari/Preferences/Security Plug-in Settings if Safari is working regularly. Then, one by one, allow plug-ins and recheck them until you locate the issue.
