While executing this approach, keep in mind that you will be making modifications to the Windows registry. A single erroneous action could result in an unexpected and devastating outcome.
To remove the Outlook Temporary files, follow the instructions below:
- Go to the Start menu of your operating system.
- Now type Regedit into the opening search box and hit Enter.
- After that, go to the Edit menu and then to the Find option.
- Press the enter key on your keyboard after selecting OutlookSecureTempFolder.
- This OutlookSecureTempFolder name is visible. Aside from that, you'll notice the following path in the data column: C:\Users\AppData\Local\…
- In a notepad, copy this path.
- Make a right-click on the Windows button and paste the path you copied into the search bar. Now press the enter key to access the relevant folder.
- Select all of the files in that folder and remove them all at once.
- Restart Outlook if it hasn't done so already.
- You can now see and open your Outlook attachments.
- You won't get any errors about being unable to open Outlook attachments this time.
