Health problems can a smartphone diagnose:
- Children's Respiratory Disease Elimination-A new smartphone app created by Massachusetts General Hospital clinicians diagnoses acute respiratory disease in children by analysing the sound of their coughs. ResAppDx, the app, may one day replace X-rays, CT scans, spirometry, and blood and sputum testing. The app is now undergoing clinical testing to determine its usefulness and optimise its algorithm.
- Online eye exams are available.-Smartphone cameras have improved to the point that they can now be used to do eye tests. Several research groups have created portable eye test applications that are excellent for usage in underdeveloped nations with limited access to pricey equipment and eye exam doctors.
- Blood Flow Measurement-A clinician often analyses how smoothly blood flows through a patient's arteries before performing a medical operation such as coronary angiography, bypass surgery, or kidney dialysis. The Allen Test is a popular treatment that includes briefly stopping blood flow by pressing on two points on the patient's wrist. When the pressure is released, the doctor examines how quickly the hand's colour returns.
