  • Use the Shift + Alt keys to change paragraphs. Place the cursor within the text, hit that combination, and then move it using the up and down buttons.
  • You may extract text from images using the Omni Page File Converter. You may be doing research in a bookstore and taking a photo of a page, and the functionality will extract text from the image. It isn't always flawless, but it is preferable to having to type or write a lot.
  • When you save and close a document, Shift + F5 ensures that when you reopen it, the cursor will proceed to where you left off instead of starting at the beginning.
  • Simply press Ctrl + F1 to conceal what I consider to be an obnoxious and excessively cluttered ribbon interface (introduced in Office 2007).
  • If you change your mind about how text is formatted, click the word in question. Alternatively, pick a chunk of text andhit Ctrl + Space at the same time. If a style has been applied to the formatting, hit Ctrl + Shift + N to restore to the default style.
