The jacket has been evolved by the Kanpur-situated Defence Material Stores Research and Development Establishment (DMSRDE), which is one of the laboratories of the government-run Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).
'The front hard armor panel bulletproof jacket was assessed at Terminal Ballistics Research Lab in Chandigarh and it fulfilled related criteria of the BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards),' the declaration stated. The front hard armor panel technology utilized for this jacket decreases the weightage of a medium-sized bulletproof jacket from 10.4 kilograms to 9 kilograms, the ministry's statement announced.
Defence Minister of India
Rajnath Singh congratulated and complimented the DRDO & its lab DMSRDE for formulating the modern jacket. 'India requires more additional innovative product design and growth to comprehend the fantasy of
#AtmaNirbharBharat,' he told in a Twitter post.
