Why move to HTTPS?

The Google identifies the several reasons to switch to HTTPS in their website migration guide.

When the Data sent by the using of HTTPS is secured via Transport Layer Security protocol (TLS), which provides three key layers of protection:

First is Encryption:-  The concept of Encrypting is that the exchanged data to keep it secure from eavesdroppers. According to this while the user is browsing a website, nobody can “hear” to their conversations, track their activities across multiple pages or steal their information.

Second is Data integrity:-  The Data cannot be modified or corrupted during transfer, intentionally or otherwise, without being detected.

And Third is Authentication:-  The Proves that your users communicate with the intended website. This protects against man-in-the-middle attacks and builds user trust, which translates into other business benefits.

These are other benefits, though, including the Google ranking boost previously mentioned.
