Google's free Search Console service provides site owners with a variety of tools for monitoring their site's performance. It not only shows how your site is performing on the inside, but it also shows how searchers perceive your site in the search results.

You'll learn about the keywords and queries that drive traffic to your site, as well as which rich results your content has achieved and how well your mobile site is performing. You can also see if Google can see your content. Adding your website to Google Search Consoleis a simple process. It only takes a few simple steps. We'll walk you through the steps here. You must first create a Google Search Console account.

1. Navigate to the Google Search Console page.
  • If necessary, log in or select 'Start Now.'
2. In the search drop-down, select 'Add a property.'
  • Your Google Search Console account can hold up to 1000 properties.
3. Choose a property type, type in your website address, and click 'Continue.'
4. To expand the option, click the arrow next to 'HTML tag.'
5. Take a copy of the meta tag.

The complete meta tag code should be highlighted. Right-click on the highlighted tag and select 'Copy,' or use the ctrl-c Windows or cmd-c Mac copy shortcuts. To add your site to Google Search Console, we only need the long line of characters inside the content part.
