The Google Maps function is now found on Google’s My Business Dashboard. It is a dashboard created by Google to manage and track your online presence across the various platforms of Google.
If you’re an established business, there are chances that you already appear on the Google My Business directory. However, if you’re starting new, you have to be added there.

1. Go to Google My Business- click ‘get on Google’.
2. Enter your business name and address
3. Select or Add your business- click on the already existent business listings, if your business already appears there you just need to claim it. Otherwise, you can “Add your business” and provide the info.
4. Select the category of your business- try to be specific & relevant. Google has preset keywords/ categories. Find among them and list your business accordingly. This will help Google classify your business in the search query.
5. Verify the business- after this process, Google will verify your business location through a postcard and verification PIN.
6. Confirm your business- after being verified confirm your location and set up the Google+ page. It is of high importance to boost your local SEO.

These steps involving Google My Business help the business to be found online.
