There are many cities in Europe which are breathtaking but one of the best city to travel in Europe is Madrid..
When it comes to Spain, most people talk about Barcelona and lbiza but the capital of Madrid has plenty of surprises to offer. Madrid is the 3rd largest city in the EU ( European Union ) located right in the heart of Spain. While it might not impress you as much as Colosseum in Rome or Parliament in Budapest, it is the overall vibe on the streets that are unparalleled to anywhere else in the Europe.
Madrid has all the amenities of a big capital city but it still holds on to its Spanish charm with cobblestone streets family-owned stores and the friendliest of people.
While there are many things which i love, there are 3 major reasons which made me fall in love with this beguiling city..
1 ) Tapas -

Tapas are a wide variety of appetizers, or snacks, in Spanish cuisine. They are either served hot ( such as rabas or chopitos with beef stew, meatballs or fried squid ) or cold (with cheese or olives ). These bite-sized snacks can be evolved into a sophisticated cuisine and had as a full meal. They are also really cheap like a $1 per plate. It's a must try.
2 ) Plaza -

Nobody can come to Madrid without noticing it's Plazas. These are usually lined with open urban spaces with cafe shops. My favorite plaza has to be Plaza Major.
It dates back to the 15th century when it was constructed as bustling market. Plazas are the best place to people watch and enjoy the sunset.
3 )

Madrilenians love the outdoors., thanks to 300 days of sunshine per year.
Locals love to walk around, dine on the sidewalks or exercise in the park. The inner city is closed to outside vehicles providing even more comfort for everyone to relax in the sun which in the summertime illuminates the city until 10.30 p.m.
Madrid is just amazing and it checks all the boxes for what makes a city enjoyable.
