Technology has been an ever changing dynamic always with the ability to evolve every single day. Bluetooth has been synonymous with ‘connection’ & ‘sharing’ since very long and it has evolved very much since the beginning. It is a wireless sharing technology using 2.4 GHz Frequency range and sends 79 different bands of radio waves inside this frequency.
Unlike the WiFi or network connections, Bluetooth doesn’t use Internet data; which is beneficial for sharing and streaming music in cars, smartphones, etc.

It is an improvement on the earlier versions of Bluetooth as the next step of the technology that you use to connect your headphone, speakers and other devices. Although the peripherals that you’re going to connect with this latest version of Bluetooth must be compatible with it.

Features and their working:

• New direction finding- this new version offers two methods of direction finding; using which it can determine the direction from which the signal is coming. It’s an improvement over the earlier versions because until now they could only determine the signal strength. Now this newer version is capable of giving the exact location, if & when you lose your devices.

• Improved GATT catching- the new version allows faster connection which helps in saving power because of Generic Attribute Profile caching enhancements. Following things could be achieved from GATT:

• Randomized Advertising Channel Indexing- through this feature it allows a Bluetooth device to announce when it’s available. It is useful since it will save a lot of power in knowing when the other device is ready and available to connect instead of waiting for pairing.

• Periodic Advertising Sync Transfer- this feature helps in pairing other low-energy devices. For example, a smartphone can get Television’s advertising schedule as SyncInfo and send it to low-powered device that can’t handle the periodic advertising sync.

• It helps in choosing the channels randomly according to your own will when you’re in an area where several devices are available to connect.
