Dr. G. Satish Reddy is an Air-Space Scientist of India, President of Defense Research and Development Organization. He is also the Scientific Advisor to the Defense Minister and Secretary of the Department of Defense Research and Development and Director General of Missile and Strategic Systems.
He was inspired by the great scientist and "Missile Man" of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. He was born in Mahimilaru village in Andhra Pradesh's Nellore district, Reddy is an alumnus of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), where he graduated in electronics and communication engineering.
He is widely renowned for his exceptional expertise in navigation science, Reddy is known for leading several technological developments for India's missile systems and Agni V - for successful flight testing of India's first intercontinental missile mission.
It was under Reddy's leadership that the development of the medium-range surface-to-air missile program, and that too, with a hat-trick in the first three consecutive missions, was successfully achieved.
