Now you don't have to spend much money to get a passport with the help of an agent. You can apply online yourself. Today we are telling you about the process of making passports online.
Documents required to get passport
1. 10th mark sheet, Aadhar card, PAN card, Voter ID card or driving license for date of birth. (One of these documents).
2. Electricity or water bill, ration card, income tax department's assessment order, voter ID, Aadhaar card, bank passbook for address delivery.
3.Anature Format-1: Affidavit for India's citizenship and no criminal record.
How to apply online
1. Visit the website of Passport Seva https://portal2.passportindia.gov.in.
2. Click on the box containing the new user. This will take you to the registration page.
3. Go to Passport Seva's website here. Select the Passport Office of the city in which you are residing. Also, make sure that you have written your name as it is on your document. The rest of the form is very easy. This is no different than signing up on another website.
4. When the work is complete, click Register.
5. Now that you have created your account, go back to Passport Seva's website.
6. Click on the green Login button.
7. Type your email ID and click Continue.
8. Type the characters in your email, password and image. Then click on Login.
9. Click Apply for Fresh Passport / Reissue of Passport.
10. You have two options. You can download the form, fill it and then upload it back on the website, or it can be filled online. We would suggest that you fill the form online.
11. If you want to fill the online form, then click on the option with click here to fill the application form online. It is present inside the alternative 2 pages. We will still suggest you to choose this option, as it is the easiest way to apply for passport
12. On the next page, you have to choose between a new passport or re-issue, normal or immediate, 38 pages or 60 pages. Choose the option according to your convenience and requirement and then click on the next page.
13. You will have to provide personal information on the next page. Keep in mind that the information you are giving matches the document that you have.
14 After filling the form, click on the Submit Application button at the bottom right.
15. After filling the form, go back to the web page which is mentioned in step number 9
.
16. Click View Saved / Submitted Applications.
17. You will be able to see the application which was submitted a while back. Click on the radio button next to it. Then click on Pay and Schedule Appointment.
18. Select Online Payment and click on Next. Now the list of Passport Seva Kendra in your city will appear on the screen. It will also mention the nearest date and time for the appointment.
19. From the drop-down menu next to PSK Location, choose an option as per your convenience.
20. Then type the characters created in the image. Then click on Next.
21. Click Pay and Book Appointment.
22. This will take you to the payment gateway page. As soon as your payment is completed, you will once again reach the Passport Seva website.
23. Now you will be able to see a page on which Appointment Confirmation will be written. On this page, complete details of the appointment from Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) will be available.
24. Click on Print Application Receipt. On the next page you will be able to see a detailed view of your application. Click Print Application Receipt once again.
25. On the next page, you will be able to see the preview of the recipe. Click Print Application Receipt once again. After doing this, you will be able to take a print out of your appointment confirmation.
26. You will need to print out this recipe for entry at Passport Seva Kendra. Now you reach the Passport Seva Kendra at the scheduled time. We are telling from our experience that if you have all the documents available then you should not take more than two hours.
