On  Dec 20, 2017 The Union Cabinet led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi affirmed the Ministry of Railways' transformative step to set up the principal ever National Rail and Transport University (NRTU) in Vadodara to aptitude its HR and production capability.

The National Rail and Transportation Institute (NRTI) is India's solitary transportation university situated in Vadodara, Gujarat, India.
