The Indian Government announced plans to establish two Defense Industrial Corridors in the country to promote defense manufacturing and bolster the defense ecosystem. These corridors aim to facilitate the growth of the defense industry, attract investments, and create employment opportunities. As of my last knowledge update in September 2021, the two states selected for the defense industrial corridors were:

1. Uttar Pradesh Defense Industrial Corridor:
  - The Uttar Pradesh Defense Industrial Corridor was one of the two corridors proposed by the Indian government. It is centered around the state of Uttar Pradesh, which is strategically located in northern India. This corridor is intended to attract defense manufacturing companies and related industries to invest in the region. The corridor in Uttar Pradesh includes several nodes or industrial hubs, such as Lucknow, Kanpur, Agra, and Aligarh, which are known for their industrial and educational infrastructure.

2. Tamil Nadu Defense Industrial Corridor:
  - The Tamil Nadu Defense Industrial Corridor is the second corridor envisioned by the government and is focused on the state of Tamil Nadu in southern India. Tamil Nadu is already home to a thriving manufacturing and industrial base, and this corridor aims to leverage that infrastructure to boost defense manufacturing. Key cities and regions in this corridor include Chennai, Coimbatore, Hosur, Salem, and Tiruchirappalli.

These two defense industrial corridors are part of the Indian government's larger "Make in India" initiative and its efforts to strengthen the defense sector's capabilities. The corridors are designed to encourage collaboration between the public and private sectors, promote research and development, and enhance defense production capacity.

Please note that developments may have occurred since my last update in September 2021, so it's advisable to refer to the latest government announcements and news sources for the most current information regarding the status and progress of these defense industrial corridors.
