The organization of the Coffee Board of India is managed by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of the Government of India. The Ministry handles the promotion of production of Coffee in India. The Coffee Board of India was established by an Act of Parliament in1942.
The aim of the Coffee Board of India was not only to promote the production of Coffee but also sale the coffee and consumption of Coffee in India and abroad, provides financial assistance to establish small coffee growers, carry of researches over coffee, safeguarding the working conditions of the labors, and managing ample amount of pool of unsold coffee.
The Coffee Board of India has its extension wing as well which covers the vast network of major coffee growers with a strength of 278 technical employees. The employees are focused towards the promotion of guiding the latest technologies to the growers, organize the produced material program to the growers and farm workers, as well as introducing various development support. The Indian coffee has been exported to many countries like USA, Japan, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and many other counties and shows their presence in this phase as well.
The departments promote the consumption of coffee in the country along with 12 India Coffee House, which are located in major cities across the country. The department also conducts a National Level Exhibition and Trade Fairs to generate the awareness about the Indian Coffee to the consumers as well as educate the consumers about the positive and good effects on the human health due to the consumption of coffee.
