“Bhubaneshwar” the capital city of ‘Orissa’ is known as the ‘Cathedral City of India’. However, ‘The Lord of the Universe’ is the modern capital of Orissa. Bhubaneshwar is also often referred to as the ‘Temple City of India’.
The city forms an internal
religious link in the Golden Triangle with the other two holy cities of Orissa i.e. Puri and Konark.
Bhubaneshwar is the largest city of Orissa and one of the biggest Economic and
Religious Centre of Eastern India. Bhubaneshwar is one of the most visited cities of Eastern India.
The city has a history traces from around 3rd Century BC or earlier, whereas, the
modern city of Bhubaneshwar was formally established in 1948. The city has a

heritage resources and it represents a sacred cultural landscape which has evolved to the support of existing natural resources and cultural trigger. The

Buddhist, and Jain heritage which supports the finest Kalinga temple.
