The newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of Cairn Oil and Gas, the subsidiary of Vedanta Limited is “Ajay Dixit”.
He took over ‘Sudhir Mathur’ who has been the CEO of company from last 7 years. However, Ajay Dixit joined the Vedanta Group in the year 2015, and in 2019, he took over the existing CEO and became the new CEO of Cairn Oil and Gas. At present the Cairn Oil and Gas produces approximately 200,000 barrels of oil on per day basis, on calculation which becomes about 25 per cent of India's crude production and is eying over to take up its contribution to 50 per cent in the Indian market. However, the company is planning for expansion with an investment of worth $3.5 billion in the period of next 3-4 years which will significantly increases the amount of production of crude oil of company.
Having the 39 years of experience in the sector of Energy, Ajay Dixit joined Vedanta in 2015 from Siemens where he was the Chief Executive Officer of Energy for South Asia. He is a dynamic and dedicated and quality leader with an impressive track record of delivering consistent high quality performance in a safe and sustainable manner. Whereas, the company is also very confident over him that he is willing to play a stellar role in increasing the operational efficiency and growth of the company’s oil and gas business.
Dixit is an alumnus of Delhi College of Engineering; he served as the Acting CEO of Vedanta’s Aluminium and Power business before being promoted to this new role of CEO of company. The company said he will have an important role to play in realising Cairn’s vision for Barmer block, grow the offshore business, appraisal of new blocks under OALP I and DSF II.
