Śāradā or Sharada script refers to the abugida writing system which is the part of Brahmic scripts family. Today's Gurumukhi which is mainly used by the Sikhs around the globe, Sindhi which is used by the Sindhis around the world and Dogri used by the Dogra community, has been developed and evolved from Sharada script only.

Sharada script has its time period dating back to 800 CE. It is the native script of Kashmir and it is named after Goddess Saraswati who is the Devi of knowledge and education according to Hindu Sanatan Dharma. Śāradā script was added to the Unicode Standard in January 2012 with the release of version 6.1. The Unicode block for Śāradā script, called Sharada is termed U+11180–U+111DF. Currently, a lot of research on this script is going on in various international universities around the world.
