Who is the first Indian to take a hat trick in an international test cricket?

Harbhajan Singh (born 3 July 1980) is the first Indian cricketer who achieved the feat of taking a hat-trick in an international test match. He belongs to the state of Punjab and was the main bowler for the Indian team during the early 2000s (from 2001-2012) along with legendary leg-spinner Anil Kumble.

He took a hat-trick in the all-time famous test match of Kolkata in 2001 against Australia. He took 3 wickets in three consecutive deliveries and his victims were Ricky Pointing, Adam Gilchrist and Mark Waugh. This proved to be the turning point in the match and India won the match with a huge margin. Harbhajan currently plays for Chennai Super Kings in IPL. He has taken 417 wickets in 103 test matches.
