American Imperialism was driven by three aspects.
Industrial countries are in a cycle of financial competitiveness.
Political and military rivalry, such as the development of a powerful battle fleet.
Anglo-Saxons are seen to be better in terms of cultural and racial supremacy.
In the
United States, industrial growth necessitated the acquisition of new commodities and the development of innovative industries. These reasons were typical throughout European colonialism, and companies lobbied for policies that benefited them. It is no coincidence that US Imperialism started during the 'Gilded Age.' Imperialism was suggested by corporatism. Imperialism was a
dramatic reversal and abandonment of America's founding principles of
freedom and opposition to dictatorial rule.
