Go to Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars->Add Account and then choose Google from the list of email providers. Then, to finish the Gmail account setup procedure, follow the onscreen prompts.

Please go and check the Apple Support website and go to the Mail Settings Lookup page to validate your email settings for the mail setup.
