You may simply delete a contact's information if you no longer want to maintain it. This can also help clear up some space on your iPhone's memory. Here's how you do it:

To open the Phone app, tap it from the Home screen.
Contacts should be tapped.
Select the contact you want to remove by tapping on it.
Select Edit.
Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page.
To confirm the operation, tap Delete Contact again.

The specified contact has been deleted from the list.
