After removing the Lightning attachment, set your phone upright on a dry surface for a few hours to dry up the moisture. Here are some more things you should or should not do...
- Turn off your iPhone 8.
- When the alert appeared, air dries the Lightning item you had attached to your iPhone.
- It's not a good idea to blow into the port or shake the phone. as that could push the liquid further in.
- Do not attempt to charge your iPhone regardless of whether the battery is low or not
After letting the iPhone 8 sit for a few hours without being used, try turning it on and connecting any Lightning accessory, but not the charger. If there is still moisture in the port, the same warning message will appear. Whether it still doesn't appear, try charging your smartphone to see if the error is still present, and if it is, give your phone another 24 hours to dry out the moisture before turning it off.
