There are a number of reasons why GPS on your iPhone isn't working properly. Network connection or signal troubles, software faults or app malfunctions on GPS-enabled applications, and incorrect upgrades on GPS apps and/or iOS are all well-known reasons. In the worst-case scenario, the issue is caused by a hardware flaw, such as a broken or malfunctioning GPS chip on the iPhone. Other GPS problems have been attributed to environmental variables such as a large tree, massive infrastructure, walls, or towering buildings, all of which can obscure the signal strength between the iPhone and the sky (network towers or GPS satellites).

Solution

LTE provides quicker data transfer or greater cellular rates. Even so, it wouldn't hurt to try switching to a lower network band for a few minutes to see if it helps with GPS troubles on the iPhone. By turning off LTE and switching to other accessible network bands, some customers were able to address GPS difficulties. The following is how it works:

  1. Go to the Settings tab.
  2. Scroll down to Cellular and press it.
  3. Select Data Options from the dropdown menu.
  4. Select Voice & Data from the drop-down menu.
  5. Choose 3G from the list of possibilities.
