How do I delete data off the computer?

Follow these steps to delete data:

1. Open the Start Menu and choose Settings.
2. Select Update & Security from the drop-down menu.
   
3. Scroll down and click on Recovery on the left-hand side.
4. Go to Reset this PC from there. Click Get Started if you wish to restore your laptop's factory default settings.
5. Keep My Files or Remove Everything will show as alternatives in a popup. Choosing Remove Everything will erase all data from your device and ready it for sale or recycling. Keep My Files will keep your data safe.
6. Select Change settings from the drop-down menu.
7. Toggle on the Data Erasure toggle switch
8. Confirm by clicking the button.
9. 'Remove files and clear the disc,' a popup will appear. This may take several hours, but it will make file recovery more difficult.' Next should be selected.
10. Reset the computer by pressing the Reset button. This will remove all personal files and user accounts on the PC, any changes made to settings, and all apps and games.
