How can I eliminate having to put in my password in every time I open my new Macbook air

Steps to follow

1. Select 'System Preferences' from the Apple symbol in the top-left corner of the screen.

2. Select 'Security and Privacy' from the drop-down menu.

3. If necessary, go to the 'General' tab.
4. Untick the 'Requires Password' checkbox.
5. In the pop-up box, type your Mac's password.
6. Click 'Turn off screen lock' to confirm your decision.
After applying these steps your problem  should be fixed
