PPPoE (Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet) is a network protocol that allows network endpoints to communicate more easily. PPPoE wraps PPP frames inside Ethernet frames, delivering the same benefits as PPP while allowing communication over Ethernet networks.
Service providers can use PPPoE to manage many client systems, verify their access to the company's services, and track consumer data use. Data encryption and compression are also supported by PPPoE.
