  • Any mounted volumes that it doesn't consider bootable are simply filtered out (not displayed) in the Startup Disk preference pane.
  • The preference pane plugin's definition of a Boot Camp volume requires that the mounted volume be either msdos or ntfs—this is hard-coded.
  • This does not imply that your Boot Camp volume is no longer bootable. It's only that it's not visible in the graphical user interface.
  • During startup, press and hold the opt key to select the Windows partition to boot from. You can alternatively remount it (read-only) using Mac OS X's built-in NTFS file system, and it should appear in Startup Disk.
