InterGlobe Aviation Ltd., doing business as IndiGo airline company, is an Indian low-cost airline that has its headquarters in Gurgaon, Haryana, India.
IndiGo is the largest Indian passenger airline, with a market share of 57.9% as of May 2022. The airline is primarily popular in domestic air travel in the Indian market as a cost-efficient carrier with its main focus on three objectives – providing low fares, being on time, and providing a courteous and hassle-free experience. IndiGo has become synonymous with being on time.

Kapil and Rahul Bhatia, the father and son, control the InterGlobe enterprises, the company that owns Indigo Airlines. The seven-year-old Airline company is now India's largest airline company and is known for its punctuality and low-fare travel. The airline company earned a net profit of 130 million dollars even when its rivals were incurring losses. The airline company currently controls 71 Airbus-A320 aircraft and floes to 34 destinations, including five that are overseas. The Bhatias also own a joint venture with France's Accor that runs 14 hotels across India.
IndiGo airlines started operations on 4 August 2006 and presented its Initial Public Offering (IPO) in October 2015. After the airline company got listed on the Indian stock exchanges BSE and NSE, Forbes magazine declared Rahul Bhatia the 20th richest person in India ( with his father Kapil Bhatia), with an estimated $3.1 billion net worth. As per corporate shareholdings filed for June 30, 2022, Kapil Bhatia publicly holds two stocks with a net worth of over Rs. 18.6 Cr.
