Punjabi
is spoken by an estimated 102 million people worldwide. If they're considered an ethnic group, they're one of the world's largest. They are the second-largest ethnic group in South Asia, behind the Bengalis.
Punjabi and its accompanying dialects are the major languages of the Punjabi people, and they change according to the part of Punjab the speaker hails from; there are noticeable distinctions in the Lahnda languages spoken in Pakistani Punjab. Despite the lack of official support for Punjabi in Pakistan, the great majority of people still speak it. The majority of people in the Indian Punjab
speak Punjabi. English is occasionally spoken, while older folks who were up in undivided Punjab may be able to communicate in Urdu. Many loanwords from neighboring places and provinces have always been adopted by Punjabi languages.
