Established in the year 1967 National Institute of Technology, Silchar in one of the most renowned institute of India. It is located in Assam and the college got upgraded with the status of National Institute of Technology and was declared an Institute of National Importance under the National Institutes of Technology Act, 2007.

• First Sem Ph.D. understudy (Hosteller) is to pay Rs.26,500/ - to SBI A/c No.30763009570 of N.I.T. Silchar. 

• First, sem Ph.D. understudy (Non-Hosteller) is to pay Rs.23, 370/ - to SBI A/c No.30763009570 of N.I.T. Silchar.

• Ph.D. understudy of first sem (Hosteller) is to pay Rs.14,000 (mess progress) + 11,000 = Rs.25,000/ - to BHM, NIT Silchar payable at N.I.T. Silchar.

• Ph.D. understudy of different semesters (Hosteller) is to pay Rs.14,000 (mess progress) + 1,000 = Rs.15,000/ - to BHM, NIT Silchar payable at N.I.T. Silchar.

• Tuition Fee of Rs.7,500/ - is postponed for SC/ST understudies
