In Feb 2018 Bermuda became the first country to repeal same-sex marriage. It replaces the right of the island nation's 60,000 residents to enter same-sex marriages with a "domestic partnership", that's available to couples of any sexual orientation.
It makes it the first country to take such action to repeal same-sex marriage rights. The LGBTQ community protested against it. The British Overseas Territory had allowed couples of the identical gender to marry due to the fact that May 2017, but now a law has been positioned into pressure in establishing domestic partnerships. Bermuda’s Senate and House of Assembly passed the new legislation via wide margins
