December 24, 2017: Noted Kannada pundit T.P. Ashok has sacked the Sahitya Akademi yearly honor for 2017 for his abstract analysis work 'Kathana Bharathi'.  

The honor conveys a satchel of ₹1 lakh and a copper plaque which will be introduced to him on February 12, 2018, in New Delhi during the Festival of Letters being sorted out by the Akademi.

Another Kannada author H.S. Sreemathi has stowed the Sahitya Akademi Prize for Translation 2017 for her work 'Mahashweta Devi Avara Katha Sahitya – 1 and 2', interpretation of short accounts of Mahashweta Devi (Bengali).
The honor conveys a satchel of ₹50,000 and a copper plaque. The Sahitya Akademi on Thursday reported its yearly Sahitya Akademi grants in 24 dialects in New Delhi.

Seven books, five books of verse, five of short stories, five of artistic analysis and one of play and expositions have been decided for the honors.

The honors were suggested by recognized jury individuals speaking to the 24 Indian dialects and endorsed by the Akademi Executive Board, said a delivery.
