Tech Mahindra is an Indian multinational technology company that provides IT and business process outsourcing services. The company was founded by Anand Mahindra, Vice Chairman of the Mahindra Group, in collaboration with British Telecom (BT) in 1986.

Anand Mahindra is the grandson of Jagdish Chandra Mahindra, one of the co-founders of the Mahindra Group. He studied film-making and architecture at Harvard University before returning to India to join the Mahindra Group in 1981. He quickly rose through the ranks of the company and became the Vice Chairman in 2016.

In 1986, Mahindra and BT formed a joint venture to provide software development services to BT and its clients. The joint venture was named Mahindra-British Telecom (MBT) and started with a team of 10 people. MBT's first project was to develop software for BT's telephone exchanges.

Over the next few years, MBT expanded its services and started providing software development and consulting services to clients in other industries. The company also opened offices in the United States and Europe.

In 2005, BT sold its stake in MBT to Mahindra and the company was renamed Tech Mahindra. Under Mahindra's leadership, the company continued to grow rapidly, expanding its services and client base. Today, Tech Mahindra is one of the largest IT companies in India, with more than 135,000 employees and operations in over 90 countries.

In addition to his role at Tech Mahindra, Anand Mahindra is also a prominent figure in Indian business and society. He is a member of several industry and government committees and has been honored with numerous awards for his leadership and contributions to business and society.
