The 2018 Mylapore festival has started in Tamil Nadu. On January 4 the 16th edition of the Sundaram Finance Mylapore Festival (SFMF-2018) was organised at Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple and Nageswara Rao Park in Chennai. These fest are 4 day long and included many events about 40 events, such as heritage walks, competitions and cultural performances. This was organized by city based non banking finance company Sundaram Finance.

About the Mylapore festival:
All great cities and states are known for some famous soul.. Here in south India, Mylapore can rightfully claim to be the soul of Chennai city. It pre-dates as the birth of Chennai and has seen the city grow as it has, its own. This festival inhibit the view and feel of an old neighbourhood as the culture and heritage tradition typically based on south Indian yet it has not evade development.
This place then is also just the setting for a cultural festival. And this is the reason why Mylapore celebrates here as on the eve of the local harvest festival of Pongal The Sundaram Finance sponsored Mylapore Festival is organised every year in January.
This festival was began as a simple kolam contest for the community in the year 2001 organised by the neighbourhood newspaper but after time passes Mylapore Times has now grown into the Mylapore Festival.
Four days festival grab the attraction of culture and tradition of visitors there are 12 venues, 30 plus events, 300 artistes and thousands of people who visit and soak in it. The view of the festival site is such a beautiful because all cultural events grabs your mind.
In the spaces all around the famous Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple and at the Nageswara Rao Park, Chennai's most unique cum traditional festival held it should be visit by visitor once in life.
