The first women teacher of India was Savtribai Jyotirao Phule, born on 3rd January 1831 Savitri bai was an Indian social reformer and poet. Along with her husband she founded the first girl’s school in Pune, India at the time when British ruled our country.
She contributed a lot and put a lot of effort in empowering women in India and played a key role in improving the rights of women in India.
In 1848 when she started the first girl’s school she herself was its first teacher. She along with her husband Jyotirao Phule opened up a care center which is renowned as Balhatya Pratibandhak Griha.
