There are several thing which I find beautiful in life, as I get older. I'm very drawn to the aesthetics of the universe. I find these things beautiful about life:
1. The things one can do with it, some help others and some devote their life to raising others lives. Everyone matters to someone.
2. Knowing that everything is connected.
3. The ability to learn something new each day.
4. Everyone has a history and a story.
5. Enjoyment of any of the five senses: Warm baths, soft blankets, squishy foam toys. Live music, podcasts, good conversations. Art, landscape, architecture. Tasting menus, cocktails, bacon. Chicken baking in the oven, wet forest floors, blooming jasmine.
6. Music. It doesn't matter what language it's in or what genre, it brings people together.
7. Death. Everything stops. But yet everything carries on.
When we are young life seems like a disconnected series of random events and it is not until we grow older we start to see the connections and the larger picture of our own unique existence.
The "meaning" of life changes all the time. At first I thought life was about doing something that made you happy, then I changed it to making someone else happy, then I changed it again as I got more life experience. Maybe the purpose of life isn't just one thing, maybe life changes by the moment. Or maybe it doesn't have a meaning, we all just go back to the infinite unconsciousness we had before being born. That's cool too.
People always say "Nothing's perfect", but life itself is perfect. Nevermind what happens during ones life (good or bad), but the fact that we are here, living occurred under perfect circumstances. Sometimes when I think I'm at the end of the road be it due to health problems or my own anxiety issues, a voice tells me that everything will work out in the end and not to give up.
Beauty exists everywhere if you just stop and look for it.
