When was the first official international football match was played?

The 1872 match amongst Scotland and England was the main ever official worldwide affiliation football match to be played. It was challenged by the national groups of Scotland and England. The match occurred on 30 November 1872 at West of Scotland Cricket Club's ground at Hamilton Crescent in Partick, Scotland.
