My electric car’s estimated range drops noticeably during cold spells, even on days when I’m driving the same routes as usual. I understand that heating the cabin uses energy, but the decrease seems larger than I expected.
How much of the change typically comes from battery temperature, cabin heating, or winter road conditions? I’m also curious whether the displayed range is recalculated from recent driving or reflects a lasting reduction in the battery’s capacity. Experiences from different EV models would be helpful.
