How Does Hawk-Eye Decide Whether a Tennis Ball Caught the Line?

Watching tennis on television, I sometimes see a very close call reviewed with Hawk-Eye. The replay looks precise, but I’m not sure what the system is actually measuring or how it handles a ball that only clips the line.

Does the call come from cameras tracking the ball’s path, a sensor in the court, or a combination? And how much uncertainty is there in the result shown to players and viewers?
