We often hear that the Moon keeps the same side facing Earth, yet photographs and observations sometimes show a little more than half of its surface over time. How can both things be true?
I’m trying to understand how the Moon’s rotation and orbit work together, and whether the apparent wobble has a name. Does this motion let us glimpse parts of the Moon’s far side from Earth, or does it only change how much of the near side we can see?
