I understand the basic idea of ball-tracking, but I still get confused when a review shows “umpire’s call.” Sometimes the original decision stays, even though the projected path looks as if the ball is clipping the stumps.
How should viewers interpret that result? I’m especially curious about what the technology is measuring and why the on-field call matters when the projection is so close.
