When preparing a UPSC Mains answer on a historical topic, I sometimes find credible sources that interpret the same event differently. An answer can’t become a debate between historians, but presenting one view as unquestionable also feels risky.
How do you acknowledge a difference in interpretation without losing focus on the question or running out of word count? I’m particularly interested in how aspirants decide which historical interpretations are relevant enough to include and how to phrase them clearly.
