A clip looks clear in my phone’s gallery, but after I post it to Reddit the fine detail gets noticeably soft. It is most obvious in scenes with movement or small text, and I can’t tell whether the problem starts during upload or playback.
What I’ve checked so far
- The original video plays sharply on the same phone.
- I’ve tried both Wi-Fi and mobile data.
- The result looks similar in the app and in a browser.
Is this usually related to Reddit’s video processing, the source file’s resolution or bitrate, or a setting I’m overlooking? If you’ve found a reliable way to narrow it down, I’d appreciate the details.
