During some badminton games, a shuttle seems to veer slightly to one side even when the shot looks straight. I’ve noticed it more in certain halls, but I can’t tell whether it’s caused by air movement, the shuttle itself, or something about the way it was struck.
For players or coaches familiar with badminton shuttle drift, what clues help identify the cause? Does the effect change much with feather versus nylon shuttles, or with the shuttle’s age?
