I have two memory kits with the same advertised capacity and speed, but they’re from different manufacturers. Before installing them together, I’d like to know whether matching those numbers is enough or whether timings, voltage, and the motherboard’s memory profile can cause trouble.
Has anyone run into stability problems after mixing different RAM kits? I’m also wondering whether the system will simply run both kits at a lower speed or fail to boot altogether.
