My laptop sometimes shows around 30% battery, then shuts down unexpectedly. After I plug it in and restart, the battery indicator may show a noticeably different percentage. It doesn’t happen every time, and the laptop is a few years old.
Could this be a battery that’s wearing out, or can a reading become inaccurate even when the battery still holds a reasonable charge? I’m trying to work out whether this points to a calibration issue or a battery that needs replacing.
