My Android phone sometimes gets noticeably warm while it’s lying on a desk, even when I’m not using it. It isn’t plugged in, and the screen is off. Some days it stays cool; on others, the battery drops faster at the same time.
What’s the best way to work out whether this is ordinary background battery activity, a weak mobile signal, or an app that’s stuck doing something? I’m especially interested in what information in Android’s battery settings is useful before I start uninstalling apps or resetting the phone.
