My Windows laptop sometimes keeps its fan running for several minutes after I close the lid. The screen is off, but the laptop stays warm in my bag, which makes me wonder whether it is actually sleeping or still doing background work.
Could this be related to modern standby, a connected device, or a power setting? I’m trying to work out what to check before changing sleep settings, especially since it doesn’t happen every time.
